Pigs and Gentlemen...

So fellas. I have been inspired to ask you this question by recent events, incendiary comments, and general female curiousity: Why DO men feel compelled to stare at women's chests like a deer in headlights? I'm sitting there, fully clothed (some would even say looking conservative), in a business environment...in a meeting no less. The man I am sitting next to is making no attempt to hide his fascination with my chest. I certainly don't stare at men's crotches during meetings...scratch that, I have never actually stared. Passing glances in the proper setting, ok, yes.

Is this considered appropriate among men? Are there some "man laws" governing this behavior? Some of you seem to at least pretend to be listening. Others just creep us out completely with overt stares and drool. Is this gentleman vs. pig, or are some of you just really good at it? Break it down for me...

Hello,

I happen to really enjoy breasts, but thays just me. I believe that it is a psychological need to be enthralled by the breast. The breast for the early years of life is the provider of warmth and nourishment. We never lose those good feelings about breasts. Most women check out other womens breasts as well. it is an inherent need to gravitate the eye toward the breast. The difference between a perv and a normal, healthy person is how long the gaze stays on the breast.

It also may be that you have a huge chest, and the guy is a breast man. The research could go either way,

hmm. we are not the only culture that glorifies certain physical attributes, but there are cultures that don't give a hoot about hooters. psychological need, maybe, but it's not universal to the breasts.

When it is appropriate to stare at a woman's chest:

1) When you're trying to read her shirt that has some smart ass comment on it

2) When a lot of breast is hanging out, i.e. she's showing them to you, but leaving only a little left to the imagination

3) When she's wearing a see through shirt (again, drawing attention to the boobage)

4) When she's not wearing a bra--this draws attention yet again because either a) it's a shirt leaving only a little left to the imagination (see #2) or b) you have to look and say "is she REALLY not wearing a bra?"

and lastly

5) When she's topless. It is actually rude NOT to look when she's topless.

These are the only five times it is appropriate to STARE at a woman's brests, no matter the circumstances. You're at work? Not a problem--no sexual harassment allowed if it falls within one of the above 5 categories. In public? At home? On vacation? If it's within one of the five, it's all good.

So I have spoken, so it shall be.
